ALTAIR HyperForm
Altair HyperForm is a unique finite element based sheet metal forming simulation software solution. HyperForm combines an extremely fast one-step solver and incremental forming solution with the customized geometry manipulation and mesh generation capabilities of HyperMesh. HyperForm provides engineers at any stage of product design with quick, valuable, reliable information, reducing the overall product cycle.
HyperForm's die module takes a giant leap in bringing the product designer closer to manufacturing by enabling engineers to create and analyze conceptual die designs in order to generate an optimized die. Die concepts can then be read into any CAD system as a starting block for the actual die build. Integrated with Altair HyperView, HyperForm can export data in the Altair .h3d format allowing results to be visualized using HyperView Player with any web browser.
Benefits
Customizable macros and wizards for setting up gravity loading, binder wrap, forming, trimming, springback, and multi-stage forming
TCL/TK support for custom interface development and process automation
Powerful, user-friendly interface to Radioss
Powerful, user-friendly interface to LS-DYNA
Die module for rapid concept die design
Easy data transfer to other solvers
Drawbead calculator and modelling
Parametric Die Module
The die face generation process stars with the user creating a binder surface and identifying the product outline from the raw product geometry.Next, rib connectors are created between these entities using the 2D parametric rib editor. This allows for smooth surfaces to be generated and passed through user-defined ribs. The resulting die face may be ported to any CAD package or be used for forming simulation using either the one-step or incremental methodology. Also note that HyperForm gives users the option of operating completely within the geometric world or to maintain FEA mesh interaction
Die Morphing
Die-entry radii, wall angle and other such die-face features can easily be modified using the Morphing tool. The modification can be transferred as IGES surfaces to any CAD source.this reduces the time it takes to make changes in CAD and then brings the data in.
Optimization
Shape changes and process conditions can be defined as variables and can be directly linked to HyperStudy to perform DOE, stochastic and optimization studies.
