LMS GATEWAY

Have you ever tried to compare results from two FE analyses? Or spent too much time identifying the differences between FE predictions and response measurements? Did you ever combine test & FE data into one simulation model?

LMS Gateway helps the CAE team to quickly and accurately validate simulate models. Firstly, it provides direct access to dynamic analysis results from all major FE codes and testing results from LMS CADA-X. It offers CAE engineers everything they need to explore their analysis output - including comparison with results from other FE models, with design targets, or with experimentally obtained responses. But Gateway is much more than an NVH-specific postprocessor. When results from analysis don’t meet the functional requirements, Gateway will help to identify the root causes of the problem and provide a pathway to the solution.

LMS Gateway allows engineering teams to:

  • Compare FE predictions of dynamic models with Test data (also FE-FE and Test-Test Comparison) through Modal Assurance Criterion (MAC), Frequency Assurance Criterion (FRAC), Orthogonality Check

  • Identify the cause of the in discrepancies between the two models through power post-processing capabilities

  • Analyze the sensitivity of structural properties such as stiffness, material density,.. with respect to the dynamic response (including Eigenfrequencies, MAC values,..)

  • Improve the model-based on Updating techniques including SOL200 NASTRAN driving

In addition, Gateway provides a platform for hybrid NVH analysis including the possibility to

  • Translate noise & vibration data from one file format into another

  • Combine test & FE data into one simulation model

  • Perform forced response analysis on FE models with Test loads

  • Improve the measurement set-up based on a priori known information contained in the FE model

From LMS GATEWAY to LMS Virtual.Lab

The advanced technologies first developed in LMS GATEWAY have been migrated to the LMS Virtual.Lab platform. Not only does this provide interfaces to both LMS CADA-X and LMS Test.Lab, but it also makes the functionalities available on the Windows platform. The LMS GATEWAY functionalities are now available in LMS Virtual.Lab Noise and Vibration, in the LMS Virtual.Lab NVH Response Analysis and the LMS Virtual.Lab Model Validation solutions.
